Over 10,000 Oxfam supporters in the UK did “six and a half years” of knitting to knit enough squares to represent each woman who would have survived pregnancy and childbirth this year if basic care were available.
Sarah Blakemore reports that the result of this and many other campaign efforts is a major new health initiative for developing countries that Gordon Brown will announce at the UN in Sept.  Add your voice and tell Brown and other leaders why the most go beyond their proposed action to impact even more mothers and children.
